Newark Memorial High School went into lockdown on Wednesday, Sep 30. A student of Newark Memorial was detained by police because the pupil had a loaded gun in school. There was a disturbance at Newark Memorial and when police arrived, they saw 4 – 7 people breaking up and fleeing away.

The man that was caught had a loaded gun. A few other suspects were caught and detained. Police are still searching for more suspects. Police have released statements to assure parents of the students at Newark Memorial that no shooting was involved and they were acting on caution.
