Neal Wanless, 23, won $232.1 million in a Powerball jackpot on Friday, June 5. Wanless, in Mission, Todd County, South Dakota, bought his winning ticket from a neighboring town called Winner in May. Wanless will bring home $88.5 million after taxes. The Wanless family was in debt before the win. They owed taxes and their mobile home was repossessed.

Neighbors of the Wanless family expressed delight Neal won the Powerball jackpot. They said the Wanless family deserved the lottery.

Neal Wanless won the largest single payment Powerball jackpot in US history.
