Five Afghan immigrants living in Seattle are charged for enforced slavery of a female teen. An Afghan teenaged girl, code named JV1, has been rescued from her husband, Mohammad Atahee, 37. It seemed she was forcefully wed to Mohammad Atahee in a ceremony which the US authorities do not recognize as valid.

Atahee has been accused of sexually assaulting the teen and beating her. The girl’s adoptive mother, Nasima Yousuf, 70, and her husband, Mohammad Yousuf, 84, jointly were responsible for bringing JV1 into the US. JV1 was forced to work for Yousuf’s son, Maruf Yousufi, 42, and his wife, Nahid, 29. JV1 has been rescued and is hiding in a safe house.

Nasima Yousuf and Mohammad Yousuf will be tried in a trial beginning Dec. 23. The others will also be investigated and tried accordingly.
