Nancy Kissel: no retrial on Robert Kissel’s death

Nancy Kissel, 44, was charged of giving her husband a milkshake laced with sedatives and hammering Robert Kissel to death in 2003, in Hong Kong. Nancy Kissel claimed she acted in self-defence when Robert Kissel, 40, threatened her with a baseball bat. Nancy Kissel was convicted in 2005. Nancy Kissel was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Kissel appealed for a new trial. On Monday, Oct 6, the Hong Kong court with three judges rejected Kissel’s appeal for a new trial. Nancy Kissel’s lawyer said they would ask the Court of Final Appeal to hear her case. Robert Kissel’s attorneys alleged Nancy Kissel had murdered Robert Kissel with intent. His estate was worth $18 million. Robert Kissel supposedly wanted to seek divorce from his wife before she killed him.
The prosecutors alleged Nancy Kissel had an affair with a repairman in Vermont, where the couple had a vacation home. She was painted as an unfaithful wife who wanted to kill her husband.
