The naked skier did not intend to ski naked. He became naked after he almost fell out of a chairlift at Blue Sky Basin at Vail Resort on Fri., Jan. 2. The naked skier was 48. He was stripped off his pants when he fell through the chair, which snagged his pants.

Vail Resort lift operators immediately used the emergency stop to halt the lift and the Vail Ski Patrol went to the rescue of the naked skier. Lift mechanics reversed the lift to a lower elevation at 10 – 12 feet before helpers released the naked skier from his predicament.
