Mumbai’s prestigious Hotel Oberoi is under siege, and there are gunmen inside.

Mumbai’s Local trains are suspended for fear that the public transport may be attacked. Hotel Oberoi has been evacuated. There were 7 killed.

In Colaba, a Petrol pump was blown up. A huge fire erupted.

Government forces have a gunfight with terrorists in North Mumbai.

In Vile Parle, terrorists hijack police van and open fire.

Two terrorists were shot dead at Juhu Chowpatti.

Gunfire at Marriott Hotel, Mumbai.

ATS Chief Hemant Karkare is killed. One Addl Commissioner, Ashok Kamte, is killed. Encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar is dead.

The latest news said the army has stormed Hotel Oberoi, Mumbai.

DG NSG said they have the upper hand on the terrorists. Commandos prepared for their final assault on the Taj Mahal Mumbai. A separate group of Commandos prepare to storm Nariman House.

The majority of Mumbai Hotel Oberoi’s rooms have been “sanitised” after the forces swept them for explosives or hidden harmful objects. There are 40 guests still trapped inside Hotel Oberoi Mumbai.

The Taj Mahal Hotel (Mumbai) General Manager’s wife and their three children were killed.

There was a fire on the 4th floor of Hotel Oberoi, Mumbai. Meanwhile, at the Taj Mahal, there was an explosion. The NSG announced the successful clearance of Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai. All terrorists have been killed. It is now nightfall for India, on Thur. night, Nov. 27 but the NSG made a statement to declare emergency services are on high alert. There will be no break for the night.

The media saw hostages being evacuated from the Taj Mahal Hotel. The NSG said there were 3 terrorists inside the Nariman House. NSG announced 3 officers were wounded. Then, 7 hostages were rescued from Nariman House. 2 grenades have exploded at Nariman House.

NSG commandos were lowered down from military helicopters onto the roof. They have reached the second floor of Nariman House, Mumbai.

The Indian Government has offered Rs 1 crore for security personnel who died during the Mumbai attack operations. 1 crore means 10 million rupees and is roughly 201,714.59 USD.

NSG commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnanhas been killed.

Oberoi Hotel Mumbai had 40 hostages rescued. Terrorists refused to negotiate for the safe release of hostages. Another 6 hostages have been killed inside Oberoi Trident Hotel, Mumbai. One terrorist was killed at Oberoi Trident. Live firing occurred in Nariman House where the NSG commandos have gained entry into the building. 15 more dead bodies were recovered from the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai. 3 gunshots were fired at GT hospital. A total of 100 hostages were rescued at this point of time from Oberoi Trident.

GT Hospital near the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station. The Mumbai government has activated mobile cell phone jammers to prevent communications leakage. The 4th and 5th floor of Nariman House have been checked and cleared. National Security Guards forces declared the operations at Oberoi Trident Mumbai and Taj Mahal Mumbai are over.

Indian actor Ashish Choudhry has lost his sister and brother-in-law in the Oberoi Trident Hotel Mumbai attack.

There is a conflicting report that said Commando operations are still on at The Taj Mahal Hotel. Terrorists fired from the hotel, hitting 3 bystanders. A reporter from AFP and 3 bystanders were hit.

Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, has requested his Pakistani counterpart, Yousuf Raza Gilani, to send the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief to India for exchange of information in connection with the Mumbai terror. India has established the terrorists are from Pakistan. Pakistan has accepted this invitation.

Commando operations are on at Nariman House Jewish centre.

The NSG has declared the operation at Nariman House, Mumbai, is over.

Water cannons are moved to Nariman House to control crowd. It would have been better if there were no crowd as the terrorist/s fired into the crowd. 5 hostages were killed by terrorists at Nariman House.

There is a fire in the first floor Banquet House of Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai.

Hollywood actor Michael Rudder, who was staying in Mumbai’s Oberoi Trident has been shot. Michael Rudder had surgery after being shot 3 times. Rudder is in intensive care.

The NSG has released the statement that 2 terrorists and 5 hostages are dead at Nariman House.

NSG operation on at 3rd floor of Nariman House. Meanwhile, gunfire resumes at Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai. NSG Commando gave the all clear at Nariman House. The Bank Chairman was founddead in Oberoi Trident Mumbai. The death toll at Nariman House was 1 commando, Gajraj Singh, killed and 2 terrorists dead. The bodies of 5 hostages were found at Nariman House. The American Rabbi and his wife are among the 5 dead at Nariman House. The NSG Chief gave a statement to say there are at least 3 terrorists still inside the Taj Mahal Mumbai.

The Government of India said militant groups based in Pakistan are responsible for these Mumbai attacks while the government of Pakistan has denied it. Both parties have not released evidence to support their claims.

Prime Minister of India scheduled for a meeting with security agencies. The Home Minister was not invited.

India insists that Pakistan has a hand in the Mumbai terror attacks. Pakistan withdrew the offer to send their head of intelligence to exchange information.

The ground floor and first floor of the Taj Mahal Hotel was blazing. Remaining two terrorists were killed in Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai. One terrorist wa skilled as he tried to lob a hand grenade.This concluded the siege in Mumbai. The Taj Mahal Hotel was declared cleared of insurgents. Firemen were fighting the blaze.
Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, killed in the Mumbai attacks, was given the final salute at his funeral.
The Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai has denied that any of their staff was responsible for the attack. It was not an inside job. ATS and Intelligence point fingers at Dawood Ibrahim and said he may be involved.

Sabina Saikia’s dead body was removed from the Taj Mahal Hotel. Sabina Sehgal Saikia was a senior journalist with The Times of India. Sabina Sehgal Saikia was trapped on the 6th floor of the Taj Mahal Mumbia. Saikia was at the Taj Mahal to attend a wedding. A short article and photo on Sabina Sehgal Saikia is at the link.

There were 10 terrorists and only one was captured alive. He is Azam Amir Kasav, 21 years old, speaks fluent English, hails from Tehsil Gipalpura, of Faridkot, in Pakistan. Azam Amir Kasav’s colleague was killed and he was shot in his hand. Azam Amir Kasav played dead but the cops saw that he was breathing and captured him. Kasav was treated at the hospital to remove the bullet in his hand. His condition was stable so intelligence removed him to an undisclosed location for security reasons. The Maharashtra Government of Mumbai, India has said 2 terrorists killed were UK-born Pakistanis. The 3 day battle of terrorism in Mumbai has ended. As mentioned earlier, 9 gunmen were killed and only 1 was captured alive.

The sole surviving terrorist has been remanded to police custody until Dec. 11.
The NSG has said the 4 terrorists who attacked Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai, knew the layout of the hotel well. This hinted that there could have been insider help so the management of Taj Mahal has denied that their staff was involved. Reports said each terrorist was given a map of the building they were assigned to attack. 22 dead bodies were recovered from the Taj Mahal Mumbai, India.

Sources claimed that Hemant Kakare, the chief of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), had warned the hotels that there could be imminent terrorist attacks on the hotels.

The 12 men accused of being terrorists were given safe passage on a boat owned by gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The men had travelled from Karachi, Pakistan. The government of Pakistan claimed they had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks. As a matter of fact, Pakistan claimed they were themselves threatened by the same forces.

The U.S.’s FBI will be in India to investigate the links of the Mumbai terrorism to the U.S. Why were US citizens specifically targetted? US citizens were gunned down. Britain will be investigating from their homeland even as reports said at least 2 terrorists were British citizens.

India’s Home Minister Shivraj Patil resigns.

On Sun., Nov. 30, Mumbai welcomes the arrival of the FBI to assist in the investigations.

So far, the death toll is at 195. Statistics say 285 are injured presently.
