Motorcycle racer Cliff Gullet crashed and died

Cliff Gullet, of Bozeman, Mont., was a motorcycle racer. Cliff Gullet, 47, was racing at 239 mph when he crashed his bike on Wed. Sept 3. Cliff Gullet had lost control of his bike while competing in the 500 cc Streamliner class at the Salt Flats.

    What was the speed record?
    There is no mention of how close Gullet came to the record.
