Monica Jorge is now limbless. Jorge caught a disease of flesh eating bacteria. Monica Jorge was Oprah Winfrey’s special guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, September 24. The pictures are below.

During a Cesarean operation, Jorge got infected with the bacteria and they destroyed her four limbs. Winfrey described Jorge as the “most extraordinary woman I have ever heard of.” Winfrey said Jorge was an inspiration to all mothers. Jorge has two prosthetic legs and two prosthetic arms. Winfrey and her audience honored Jorge with a standing ovation as she walked into the set with her husband.

Tony Jorge married Monica Sprague at the hospital. Tony Jorge said it was never an option to run away even as he saw Monica being reduced to a limbless state.
