Raeceen Woolford, a former volleyball player from the University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine, won Miss Hawaii on Saturday, June 27.

Woolford graduated in 2008 with a degree in health studies. Woolford has ambitions to further her studies and eventually become a doctor. Woolford will advance to the next stage to compete in Miss America, on Jan 30.

Woolford said competing in a beauty pageant was similar to competing in sports. Bother required discipline, responsibility, leadership and team work.
