The new Miss Arkansas is Sarah Slocum. Slocum, 23, entered the contest as Miss Ouachita River. Sarah Slocum was crowned Miss Arkansas on Saturday, July 11.

Miss Arkansas won a scholarship worth $20,000, $50,000 worth of awards, wardrobe, gifts and transportation. Miss Sarah Slocum will head to Las Vegas in January 2010 to represent Arkansas in the Miss America beauty pageant.

Miss Arkansas had a talent section where Miss Slocum sang the song named “The Prayer”.
