Miss Hoover Liz Cochran was crowned Miss Alabama 2009. The outgoing queen, Miss Alabama 2008 Amanda Tapley was present to crown the new Miss Alabama.

Liz Cochran’s next step would be to compete in the Miss America. Liz Cochran has won for herself a $10,000 cash scholarship. Ms Cochran told the press she had been competing in the beauty pageant fro 3 years. Cochran had been dreaming of becoming a beauty queen since she was 12 years old. Cochran, 20, is a pre-medicine major at Birmingham-Southern College.

Liz Cochran won her preliminary title as Miss Hoover before she could compete to win Miss Alabama.
