Miriam Sakewitz, 47, has been arrested again. Sakewitz was nicknamed “Bunny Lady” for owning hundreds of rabbits and neglecting some of them in Oct 2006.

Sakewitz was arrested Tuesday, June 16, in a hotel room in Tigard. A hotel worker found rabbits hopping around in her hotel room.

In 2006, police found 250 rabbits in Sakewitz’s home. One hundred dead bunnies were stored in freezers and refrigerators. The rabbits were removed but Sakewitz broke into the animal facility and stole her rabbits back. Sakewitz was given a probation term of 5 years and banned from owning animals.

In Aug 2007, the probation officer found that Sakewitz had started her rabbit possessing again. Sakewitz was sentenced to 3 days’ prison time.
