Mickey Goodwin, a former boxer, died of a stroke. Initially, it was thought Goodwin died of a beating. Goodwin was discovered dead at home.

Police said Goodwin died of a stroke and fell down the stairs, hence his bruised body. Police looked for him when Goodwin failed to show up at River Rouge gym, where he worked.
