By Therese Lisieux on June 14th, 2009Michael Wilkinson, 23, died on February 1, 2009. About 30minutes after he was declared dead, Wilkinson’s pulse returned. Wilkinson showed the Lazarus Syndrome.
The Lazarus Syndrome was named after the man called Lazarus in the bible. Lazarus rose from the dead after Jesus commanded him to awaken. N modern day, there are only 38 cases of Lazarus Syndrome ever being recorded worldwide.
Michael Wilkinson was in the Royal Preston Hospital in UK when he died. About half an hour later, his circulation returned. This was a spontaneous return to circulation after attempts failed to resuscitate Wilkinson. Mr Wilkinson lived for 2 days until he died again a second time.
An autopsy revealed Wilkinson had an undiagnosed heart condition. His left ventricle was thickened abnormally by his condition.
