Michael McLendon’s victims were identified as McLendon’s mother, Lisa McLendon, 52; his uncle, James Alford White, 55; his cousin, Tracy Michelle Wise, 34; a second cousin, Dean James Wise, 15; and his grandmother, Virginia E. White, 74. The other dead who were not related to McLendon were James Irvin Starling, 24; Sonja Smith, 43; and Bruce Wilson Malloy, 51.
Geneva County Deputy Josh Myers’ wife and daughter died. Andrea D. Myers, 31, was visiting the home with 18-month old Corrine Gracy Myers and 4-month-old Ella Myers. (source)
Michael McLendon, of Kinston, started his angry rampage by burning down his mother’s house. McLendon probably killed his mother. McLendon went to Samson, where he shot a woman at a gas station. McLendon went to a home in Samson and killed his grandmother, grandfather, aunt and uncle. Police said McLendon wiped out his family.
Samson Mayor Clay King said he knew Michael McLendon but declined to discuss about him while the investigation is on-going.

Tuesday March 10 saw six dead in Samson, Alabama. A gunman went on a shooting spree in Samson. The attacker shot a woman at a gas station. He went to a house in Samson and shot five people in the home. By Tuesday night, the death toll was 10. The updates are below.
The gunman drove to Geneva, 12 miles away from Samson. The gunman shot several people. He then drove to Reliable Metal Products company. He exchanged gunfire with police. Geneva Police Chief Frankie Lindsey, took one bullet. Lindsey was saved by his bullet proof vest.
The gunman died outside Reliable Metal Products. He shot himself. Police may release names later.

The gunman had worked at Reliable Metal Products. The suspect burned down his mother’s house in Kinston. His mother was found dead. Police could not confirm the cause of her death.

London’s Daily Mail said the gunman, McLendon, shot the wife and child of a Sheriff’s deputy. The deputy was involved in the car chase and tracking of McLendon and had no idea his family was killed. Read the Mail here. There are photos included.
