Derek “Mac” McLaughlin and Jennifer Leibow solved a 22 year old murder case of Cindy Zarzycki. Cindy Zarzycki, then 13, disappeared on April 19, 1986.

Zarzycki was picked up at a local Dairy Queen to attend a birthday party of classmate Scott Ream, who she had a crush on. Zarzycki disappeared and was never seen or heard from again.

McLaughlin and Leibow discovered there was no birthday party and Scott Ream’s father, Art Ream, looked like a suspect. Art Ream had a previous criminal history.

The story of Zarzycki was made into a documentary for NBC’s “Dateline” and it was named as “The Dairy Queen Killer”. The Dairy Queen Killer episode will air on Friday, April 17, at 9 pm, ET.
