Charles Barkley married Maureen Blumhardt, a white woman, in 1989. Barkley and Blumhardt have been married for 20 years. The marriage was not well received in some parts of Philadelphia. The daughter, Christiana Barkley, was born in 1989.

Maureen Blumhardt Barkley appeared in a TV program to help promote the Noblerex K-1 whole body vibration machine. Blumhardt Barkley claimed she exercised on the machine about 10 times in 2 weeks. Blumhardt Barkley said she felt her muscles getting tighter.
