Matthew Scarpati, 19, a bicyclist, was hit by a motorcycle and died. Matthew Scarpati was a college teen home on summer break. James Ryan the motorcylist, was charged with DWI. Ryan was allegedly drunk and speeding when he hit Matthew Scarpati.

James Ryan was charged with DWI, vehicular manslaughter and reckless endangerment. Scarpati was hit by Ryan at Goose Creek Bridge in Wantagh, Long Island.

Matthew Scarpati was the second child to die in his family. Another Scarpati boy died 8 years ago from a medical condition.
