Matthew Manning: Manning sentenced for Vermont Gov Jim Douglas
By Therese Lisieux on November 27th, 2008Matthew Manning threw a pie at Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas. Manning was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Manning threw the pie at Jim Douglas during the July 3, Independence Day parade in Montpelier, Barre, Vermont.
Matthew Manning was dressed as Santa Claus when he ran up to Govenor Douglas and threw the pie in his face. Douglas was not injured. Security tackled down Manning and arrested him.
Manning pleaded guilty and apologized. On Wed., Nov 26, Manning was sentenced to 5 days on a work crew. The judge ordered Matthew Manning to make a donation on behalf of Jim Douglas, to the Vermont Foodbank.
