Matt Hawkins: Hawkins’ accidental death
By Clarencia Cynrae on February 15th, 2009Matt Hawkins, a rising star in the auto racing tracks, died on Saturday, February 14. Hawkins died in his home in Ball Ground. Hawkins shot himself accidentally. Hawkins had been handling his gun and showing it to his friends. The gun discharged and the bullet hit Hawkins’ head.
Hawkins was shot by a weapon that was a 9mm pistol. Hawkins, 21, was sent to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hawkins was an aspiring racer and the winner of the Hooters Pro Cup in Mar 2007. Hawkins’ next win was the ARCA Re/Max Series in April 2008.
