Matt Cassel, the New England patriots quarterback, has left the team to attend to a family matter. Matt Cassel’s dad, Greg Cassel, has passed away. Greg Cassel died on Monday night, Dec. 8.

Greg Cassel was divorced from Matt Cassel’s mother, Barbara Cassel, in 1996. Matt Cassel was 14 back in 1996. Greg Cassel was a Hollywood scriptwriter and horse trainer.

Greg Cassel left behind his children Matt Cassel, Jack Cassel, Justin Cassel and Amanda Cassel.
