Mary Winkler, convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 2006, has gotten cuustody of her 3 daughters. Rachael Putnam, a lawyer, said Mary Winkler took her children from their gradnparents, Dan Winkler and Diane Winkler.

Mary Winkler will raise her daughters, ages from 11, 9 and 3, at her home in McMinnville, southeast of Nashville.

Mary Winkler had served 12 days of her sentence of 3 years. Mary Winkler had probation for the rest of her sentence. Mary Winkler was believed to have suffered years of emotional abuse and physical abuse from her husband, Matthew Winkler, a pastor at Church of Christ. Matthew Winkler, 31, died from a single shot to his back in March 2006.
