Mary Josephine Ray is the oldest person in the US and second oldest in the world. Ray is 114 years old, after celebrating her birthday on May 17. Ray lives in Maplewood Nursing Home.

Ray is the second oldest person in the world because the oldest person now is a woman living in Japan. This lady is one week older than Ray’s age.

Gertrude Baines was 115 when she died in September 2009.
