Martin Brodeur, a NHL player, has to pay his ex wife a bigger alimony. Brodeur was ordered by a appeal court in New Jersey to pay his ex wife, Melanie DuBois half million a year until 2020.

Brodeur had appealed to pay alimony until he retires in 2012. DuBois had asked for alimony until their youngest child graduates from college in 2024. The court of appeals ordered Brodeur to pay alimony until his youngest child graduates from high school, which is in 2020.

DuBois can do well to save some of the half million per year to shore up her account for her children to make up the 4 years’ difference.
