Mark Fast: Mark Fast London Fashion Week (photos)

By Clarencia Cynrae on September 20th, 2009

Mark Fast broke convention by using plus sized models for London Fashion Week. Mr Fast used size 12 and size 14 models to show that his designs can be worn by fuller figured women. Mark Fast’s creative designer and stylist were mad at his decision.

They quit 3 days before their London Fashion Week show and left Mr Fast in a lurch. Fast hired Daniela Agnelli and Natalie Hubbarb, who are freelancers, to assist putting his show together.

Sarah Watkinson, the founder of “12+UK”, said Mark Fast hired 3 of her models for his London fashion Week show. The models are Hayley Morley, 21, a size 12, Laura Catterall, 20, a size 14 and Gwyneth Harrison, 25, a size 12-14.

FINALLY a designer decides to show their clothes on real people. The models with the curves look so much better in the clothes than the stick figures.
In 2009 we should be far enough advanced to realise that people come in all shapes and sizes, as does beauty and a continual striving for a 9 year olds body just keeps on increasing serious eating disorders.

MARK FAST! you are a fashion forward God sent. Amazing and bold to take such a risky chance. I hope this finally shakes up the fashion industry, including magazines. I am just a regular person who is not really into fashion that muuch( I’m 5′9″ 149lbs a size 10/12)but I had to respond because it is time designers took a step into the real world we live in.
