Marjorie Knoller re-sentenced for Dianne Whipple’s death by dogs
By Clarencia Cynrae on August 23rd, 2008Marjorie Knoller’s dogs killed Dianne Whipple in 2001. Marjorie Knoller was tried and the jury found her guilty of second degree murder. The judge threw out that charge, and convicted Marjorie Knoller of involuntary manslaughter in March 2002.
Marjorie Knoller was sentenced to 4 years in prison. Marjorie Knoller received parole after 2 years. The Supreme Court ruled over the trial judge and appeals court, sent the case back for reconsideration and will sentence Marjorie Knoller again on September 22. The Supreme Court wanted the second degree murder charge. This meant that Marjorie Knoller would face 15 years to life imprisonment.
Marjorie Knoller and her husband, Robert Noel, were both lawyers. Robert Noel was convicted for involuntary manslaughter but he was not home when the attack occurred.
