Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong accused as ring leader

Brian Wells, 46, robbed a PNC Bank branch near Erie on Aug. 28, 2003. Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong has been accused of being the ring leader of this robbery.

Brian Wells has a pipe bomb in a neck collar locked into his neck. He gave a bank teller a note demanding money and walked away with $8,700. Police caught Brian Wells, who then told them about his collar bomb. It exploded while waiting for the bomb squad to arrive to defuse the bomb. Brian Wells was killed. Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong was the ringleader of the plot. Kenneth Barnes testified that he was offered money to kill Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong’s father because she was unhappy over a dispute. The robbery was to get money to pay Kenneth Barnes to kill her father.
