Mario Ferreyra: Ferreyra committed suicide on live TV videos

Mario Ferreyra, 63, committed suicide while being interviewed live by a TV journalist. Mario Ferreyra killed himself. Ferreyra was a former police chief who was being investigated for alleged human rights abuses in Argentina.

Ferreyra claimed he was innocent during the accused period of 1976- 1983, where the alleged abuses took place. Then he pointed his gun to his head. Mario Ferreyra’s last words were, “Hasta siempre, Maria.” Ferreyra’s two children were witnesses. Another two children were not present at the scene of the suicide.

Mario Ferreyra was a strict law man who ruled over Tucuman province like an iron man. The period of 1976 – 1983 was also known as the “Dirty War.” BBC said thirty thousand people died during that period. Ferreyra was accused of crimes like kidnapping, torture and a cold blooded execution of 3 robbers in 1991.
