Marie Moore, 44, shot at her son, Mitchell Moore, at the back of his head. Moore and Mitchell were at Casselberry gun range when she murdered her son and committed suicide.

Moore left notes at home that suggested she had planned on killing Mitchell and herself. However, investigators could not find her motive on why she wanted to die. Moore and her son lived in Altamonte Springs. Moore and Mitchell shared a firing lane at Casselberry and seemed to be enjoying their firing practice.

Marie Moore was seen on video deliberately firing at Michael Moore. Marie Moore then placed her pistol in her mouth and fired a shot. Mitchell Moore died at the scene. Marie Moore died in Florida Hospital in Altamonte.

Marie Moore’s family told authorities she had a history of mental illness. Investigators were unable to confirm this.
