Mariana Bridi, 20, who had competed in two Miss World finalist beauty pageants, had a great personal tragedy. Bridi, a model in Brazil, had her feet and hands amputated. Bridi had an infection that spread in her blood. Bridi had a virus that spread some infection in her blood.

Bridi was a finalist in Brazil’s Miss World in 2006 and 2007. Bridi was Brazil’s Miss Bikini International and she represented Brazil in China in 2007. Bridi was placed 6th in the lineup of 50 beauty contestants. Bridi won a prize for having the most beautiful body.

Bridi has blood type O- (O negative). There is an appeal for blood donors that match her O negative blood group.

Bridi’s boyfriend, Thiago Simoes said they were upset. They prayed Bridi could overcome her illness and survive. Bridi fell sick on Dec.30. She was misdiagnosed with a kidney stone. After 2 days, Bridi’s condition took a turn for the worse. When Bridi lost blood circulation to her feet, doctors decided to amputate. On Tuesday, Jan 20, Bridi lost her hands as well. Bridi is now hospitalized in Serra, Espitito Santo.

Bridi was said to have an infection caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. Bridi is far from being safe fromdanger. Bridi had an internal haemorrhage and an operation on Wed. Bridi’s father, Agnaldo da Costa, said her life was in danger.
