Marian Robinson, Michelle Obama’s mother, has been asked by her son-in-law, Barack Obama, to move into the White House with them. Marian Robinson would be the first grandmother of the First Family to move into the White House. When Marian Robinson lives in the White House, she would be breaking tradition as the first time three generations of a President’s family have moved into the White House.

Mrs Marian Robinson had suggested she wanted to use an apartment nearby but Michelle Obama said that the White House had 132 rooms and there was plenty of space. Michelle Obama was said to have “begged” her mother to leave Chicago and move with them to Washington. Marian Robinson would assis to become a babysitter for Malia Obama, 10 and Sasha Obama, 7. Michelle Obama gave an interview to Newsweek. Mrs. Obama said her mother, Marian Robinson, would provide her daughters with a sense of stability.
