Maria Esther Castillo, of Oswego, New York, will be charged in court on Thursday, November 6. Maria Esther Castillo was accused of resisting arrest and interfering with flight crew on board UA Flight 645. Castillo was flying from Puerto Rico to Chicago.

Castillo hit a flight attendant on the bum with the back of her hand. Castillo was seen standing and falling down onto a blind passenger and she started pulling out the hair of the sightless person. Flight crew used ankle cuffs to restraint her but they kept slipping off so the crew used duct tape to tape her down to her seat. The pilot diverted the flight to Charlotte-Douglass International Airport, in N.C. When officers boarded the plane to escort her off, Castillo resisted.

FBI agent Carricato said that Castillo was seen having drinks in the airport bar before boarding the plane. Castillo bought one drink on the plane before flight attendants stopped serving her alcohol because of her behavior.

Maria Castillo’s case will be mentioned in court on Thursday.
