Marco Chapman killed Chelbi Sharon, 7, and Cody Sharon, 6, in their home in Warsaw, in 2002. Chapman has admitted to killing the Sharon siblings. Marco Chapman had attacked Carolyn Marksberry, the mother of the Sharon children. One other Sharon child was also attacked.

In Kentucky, the Supreme Court said Marco Chapman will be executed as according to the death penalty conviction. Chapman’s public defender had asked for 3 competency hearings and he was found competent to receive the punishment. Chapman’s lawyer has made another (4th) request for a new competency hearing, in an effort to delay his execution. Chapman admitted his guilt, asked for the death penalty and refused to appeal. This is the first time that someone has pleaded guilty in Kentucky since the death penalty was introduced.
