Updated August 23 – As President Obama has left for his 10 day vacation, speculation has mounted that Chelsea Clinton’s wedding is very close. Obama is rumored to be attending the wedding of Ms Clinton to Marc Mezvinsky, this August, in Martha’s Vineyard.

Philippe Reines, an employee for the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Matt McKenna, a staff of the former president Bill Clinton, have both denied that a wedding would take place in August. Reines and McKenna have thrown in a bet of $1000. If Chelsea Clinton gets married this August, the reporters who questioned Reines and McKenna will share the $1000.

Updated May 1- Chelsea Clinton is rumored to have planned her wedding venue to be at Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen’s home in Chilmark (Martha’s Vineyard) in August, 2009. President Barack Obama is rumored to have a vacation planned in August and this coincides with Clinton’s wedding.

Marc Mezvinsky is rumored to be getting married to Chelsea Clinton, the former first daughter. Clinton was rumored to be planning her wedding to Mazvinsky, to be held in the summer of 2009.

Chelsea Clinton’s friends said she may be getting married at Martha’s Vineyard or Hilton Head Island. Clinton was said to have preferred to experience a sunset wedding on a hill overlooking the sea.

Marc Mezvinsky’s father is Edward Mezvinsky. Marc’s mother is Marjorie Margolies Mezvinsky. Edward is a former Iowa Congressman. Marjorie is a former NBC-TV Washington correspondent.

In 2002, Edward Mezvinsky pleaded guilty to charges relating to an investment fraud of $10 million. The elder Mezvinsky served time and was released.

Chelsea Clinton met Marc Mezvinsky in 1993. Both went to school at Stanford University. Both studied finance. They were known as a dating couple in 2007 when they went public with their relationship. Clinton is a Methodist but she has attended Yom Kippur services with Marc in 2008.

Marc Mezvinsky works as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs. He has an apartment near Chelsea’s apartment, near to Gramercy Park.

Barack Obama was rumored to have felt confident enough to ignore Hillary Rodham Clinton as a credible opponent in the presidential race. He has instead set his efforts against John McCain, the Republican nominee for the White House.

In the Clinton camp, the whisper blew that they are preparing to skip 1 generation and let Chelsea have the field in 2016.
