A girl, 15, was gang raped by as many as 7 males at Richmond High School. Richmond was having a dance on Friday night, October 23, when it happened.

The victim had attended a dance at her Richmond High School gym. The girl was walking outside to wait for her father to fetch her when she was invited to drink at the courtyard. Her classmate invited her so she thought it was alright to join them.

After she downed some alcohol, the males assaulted her, robbed her and raped her. A group of about 12 others stood near by and watched without making any effort to report the crime.

There were 4 police officers and 3 school administrators on duty at the gym, where the dance was being held. At last, police received a tip about a possible assault at the school. Cops found the victim semi-conscious near the picnic table.

Manuel Ortega, 19, who was not a student at Richmond High School, was arrested at the scene. Ortega has been jailed pending his $800K bail. Ortega was being held for the investigation of robbery and rape. Police who arrested Ortega said he showed no remorse when he was told the reason for his arrest.

On Monday, a student of Richmond High was arrested. This student, 15 years old, was charged for alleged sex assault.

On Tuesday, October 27, another male was arrested. Police have not released his name. Police said the number of males who raped the girl could be as many as 10. The number of people who watched the rapes could be as many as 24.
