Mai Zetterling was an actress and director from Sweden. Zetterling lived from 1925 – 1994. Zetterling started acting at 17.

Mai Elisabeth Zetterling acted from 1941 – 1993. Zetterling wrote her autobiography called “All Those Tomorrows”. Zetterling died of cancer when she was in London. Zetterling died on St Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1994. Zetterling was 68 when she died.

On Tuesday, March 3, files released by M15 and Special Branch revealed that they tailed Mai Zetterling during 1940s – 1950s. Britain’s Secret Service feared Mai Zetterling was a communist.

Zetterling lived in a neighbourhood south of London. Secret Service,M15, suspected this community was a cover to recruit potential communists. Zetterling was investigated and followed and checks were done to determine if she had been reading communist literature. (Source)
