TORTURED: Lynndie England, Abu Ghraib and the Photographs that Shocked the World

Lynndie England, a former Army reservist, was photographed in a controversial pose. Lynndie England was shown with a cigarette in her mouth. Lynndie England pointed to something with her left hand, while her right hand has a thumb up. Josh Azzarella, an artist, has removed the other humans in that photo. They were originally male Iraqi prisoners who were naked.
Josh Azzarella's work is part of an exhibition called “The Dialectics of Terror” — formerly called “The Aesthetics of Terror.” This was scheduled to open at the Chelsea Art Museum, in New York, in November. Manon Slome, the art curator, felt the museum objected to certain issues so he cancelled this exhibition, resigned from his post and is now shopping for a new museum to hold “The Dialectics of Terror.”
Lynndie England also appeared in controversial pictures. One pose had Lynndie England leading a nude Iraqi prisoner on a leash secured to his neck. These pictures can be found by a mere search so there is no need of reproducing them here.
