Lucy Vodden, the girl who inspired John Lennon’s song, “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”, has Lupus disease. Lucy Vodden was the childhood friend of Julian Lennon, son of John Lennon. Julian had brought home a drawing of Lucy and told his father it was “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”. The older Lennon like that phrase and wrote a song about “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”.

Julian Lennon discovered Lucy Vodden had Lupus and contacted her. Julian wanted to offer her friendship. Lennon sent Vodden flowers and voucher to purchase plants from her local nursery. Lennon lives in France while Vodden lives in London.

John Lennon’s first wife was Cynthia. Their son was named John Charles Julian Lennon, better known as Julian Lennon, for short. Julian was born on April 8,1963.

When Julian was 5 years old, his parents divorced and John married Yoko Ono soon after. Julian and John did not have a relationship until May Pang encouraged John to spend some time with his son. May Pang was a girlfriend of John’s.

John and Yoko had a son named Sean Lennon. John was murdered in 1980. His will was drawn up by Yoko Ono and excluded his firstborn. Later, Yoko Ono gave Julian a private settlement. Julian gets along better with his half brother Sean, than with Yoko Ono.
