Michael Braae, 48, ex country singer, was known as “Cowboy Mike.” Michael Braae was accused of killing Lori Jonnes, 44, from Lacey. A judge had ordered close supervision of Michael Braae a year before Lori Jones was killed.

Lori Jones’ family are will sue the State Corrections Department of ignoring the judge’s order.

Bryan Gregory Smith of the Yakima, the lawyer who has filed the lawsuit, has also filed 2 lawsuits for Marchelle Morgan and Karen Peterson. marchelle Morgan had brain injuries and the judge ruled a mistrial because she was unfit to testify as a witness.

In May 2001, Michael Braae was convicted or raping and killing Lori Jones, whose body wa sfound under her bed in June 2001.
