By Clarencia Cynrae on March 21st, 2009

Lorena Puig gave birth to quintuplets. Puig, of Tucson, Phoenix, delivered a set of quintuplets with two boys and three girls. Puig’s quintuplets were born four minutes apart. The proud father is Enrique Puig.

Puig gave birth to her quintuplets on Wednesday, March 18. Puig’s sons and daughters weigh from 2 pounds 1.7 ounces to 2 pounds 8 ounces. They are small but reasonably stable.

The Puig babies were born premature. Their mother, Lorena Puig, had carried them to 29 weeks. The Puig quintuplets need to stay in hospital for 10 weeks.

Lorena Puig delivered her quintuplets at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona. This hospital was been renowned for handling multiple births. Some expectant mothers of multiple babies chose to deliver at Banner Good Samaritan because of the hospital’s reputation.

Hate to say the obvious after Nadya, but I sure hope this family isn’t on welfare and that the State isn’t picking up the tab for the hospital etc etc etc.

But Congratulations on the new rowing crew!
