Updated April 23, 2009 – Lorena Leonor Bobbitt was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey wanted to revisit the past and discover how Lorena Leonor had coped after about more than 15 years later.

Lorena Bobbitt, 24, sliced off her then husband’s penis in June 1993. Bobbitt drove away from home and threw out the organ somewhere down the road. Bobbitt called 911 who were able to help John Wayne Bobbitt. His member was reattached by surgeons.

Lorena Bobbitt was charged with malicious wounding. Bobbitt claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse. Bobbitt’s defense pleaded temporary insanity. Bobbitt was not convicted by reason of insanity.

John Bobbitt had denied all claims of abuse on his former wife. The Bobbitts divorced. Lorena Bobbitt has moved on to become a real estate agent and a fighter for domestic abuse. Her organization is Lorena’s Red Wagon.

Lorena Leonor said she had evolved as a woman. She is no longer the same woman who castrated her then husband.
