Luz Cuevas’ home had a fire and her daughter, Delimar, 10 was trapped inside. It was thought that Delimar Cuevas had died in the fire. Years later, she discovered that Delimar was alive in Willingboro. Delimar lived under a false name given to her by Carolyn Correa.

Carolyn Correa’s cheating ruse became undone after Luz Cuevas, attended a family birthday party, and saw a girl who resembled her daughter Delimar. Luz Cuevas spoke privately to the girl and lied to her that she had chewing gum in her hair. Luz Cuevas cut off a lock of hair that tested positive for a DNA match.

Carolyn Correa who charged with kidnapping and other related charges. She was sentenced to 9 – 30 years in prison in September 2005. Carolyn Correa serves time in Pennsylvania.

A TV movie was made and named “Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story.”
