Linor Abargil was Miss Israel in 1998. Abargil was raped at 18 in 1998. Seven weeks later, Abargil had recovered sufficiently to participate in Miss World beauty pageant. Linor Abargil was crowned Miss World 1998.

Linor Abargil almost died in her rape attack. Uri Shlomo, an Israeli travel agent working in Milan, Italy, attacked and raped Linor Abargil.

Uri Shlomo wanted to kill Abargil but she managed to persuade him to spare her life. Linor Abargil went public with her rape. The Italian police did not prosecute Uri Shlomo as he was an Israeli working in Italy.

Uri Shlomo was lured into Israel, where he was arrested. Shlomo was charged with rape and convicted after a guilty verdict. Shlomo received 16 years in prison. Linor Abargil spoke out to encourage women to fight against rape and not suffer in silence.

Linor Abargil married Sarunas Jasikevicius in July 2006. Jasikevicius is a Lithuanian basketball player. Linor Abargil added her husband’s surname to her own and she is now known as Linor Abargil Jasikevi?ius. It has been 10 years since as Linor Abargil Jasikevi?ius was raped and she felt she was ready to make her documentary, tentatively titled “Linor Documentary” to show how she became a survivor. Cecilia Peck, 50, the daughter of Gregory Peck, is the director and producer of this film.

Linor Abargil and Cecilia Peck have a website, www.linordocumentary.com , to seek rape victims who wish to participate in the documentary. Abargil wants rape victims in her film to help them in whatever way she can.
