Liam Hoekstra, 19 months old, has a rare genetic condition known as myostatin related muscle hypertrophy. Hoekstra has a muscular stomach and is strong for his age.

Hoekstra has these symptoms because of the accelerated growth of his skeletal muscles. Fortunately for Hoekstra, he has no other known side effects. Hoekstra has 40 % more muscle mass than an ordinary toddler his age. Hoekstra has a higher rate of metabolism. Consequently, he eats a full meal about once in every hour.

Liam’s adoptive mother, Dana Hoekstra, said Liam was eating a large amount of food daily.
