Del Martin, 87, has died. Del Martin was one of the pioneers in California’s first same sex marriages.

Del Martin married her lesbian partner of 55 years, Phyllis Lyon on June 16. Del Martin had ailing health for a while. A fortnight ago, Del Martin broke her arm. She was admitted into the UCSF Hospice in San Francisco. Phyllis Lyon paid tribute to her loving partner in a brief message.
