Leroy Sievers, cancer radio host and blogger, died
By Angie Anthony on August 17th, 2008Leroy Sievers, a radio commentator, has died of cancer. Leroy Sievers was 53. Leroy Sievers passed away at home, in Maryland. Leroy Sievers had chemotherapy to treat his cancer in 2001. He decided to share his cancer journey on air. It became immensely popular that the radio station made it a special series on national Public Radio’s Morning Edition.
Leroy Sievers fought cancer as it spread to different parts of his body in 2005. He had a brain tumor and lung cancer. After several surgeries to remove tumors, he gave up battling cancer and told his doctors to stop treatment. Leroy Sievers left behind his wife, Laurie Singer.
