Ledley King, a footballer in England, was arrested after he assaulted a bouncer of Punk Club in Soho, a night club. King, the captain of Spurs, allegedly called Wahib Butt, a doorman, a “Paki”, Mr Butt had refused entry to Mr King because he was too drunk to stand. King then punched Butt, who was the doorman bouncer security guard. He alleged incident happened at around 2:30 am Sunday, May 10.

Mr Butt alleged that King teased him for being a lowly wage worker at £10 per hour while he earned £80, 000 per week. King then punched Butt. The other security guards came to Butt’s aid and tackled King. Passing police stopped to arrest King. King was questioned at the Charing Cross police station and released on bail. King has to report to the police station in 4 weeks’ time.

Ledley King, 28, has apologized to Spurs’ boss Harry Redknapp. King insisted that whatever happened was totally out of character.
