Rosie O’Donnell gave an interview to discuss about her ideas for her new Rosie’s Variety Show. One of the newspapers put two and two together and suggested Rosie O’Donnell might be emulating Lawrence Welk in creating a variety show that has comedy, music and fun.

Lawrence Welk’s signature was the iconic champagne bottle popping and frothy liquor overflowing. The sounds were produced by Welk. No champagne bottles were harmed in the process.
