Lauren Conrad will write for HarperCollins. The publisher has planned a three book series for Lauren Conrad.

This series will be called “L.A. Candy” and be based on Lauren Conrad’s experiences in the transformation from a teen into a reality TV celebrity and fashion designer. Number one in the trio in “L.A. Candy” will be out in the summer of ’09.

Conrad said she did not intend to act in LA Candy if her book becomes adapted into a movie. Instead, Conrad said she wanted to be a producer for LA Candy. The reason being she had spent a lot of time in front of the camera and now it was time to get behind the camera.
