Laure Manaudou had held the world’s record for the 200 meters freestyle last year. This year, Laure Manaudou became the fourth in the 200 meters.

Laure Manaudou’s competitors had new swim suits that helped them achieve better times. Laure Manaudou’s contract was with Arena. Arena’s new suit would only be out in June. Laure Manaudou decided not to swim for the 200 meters in the qualifiers for the Olympics. She would only compete in the 100 meters in Beijing 2008 Olympics in August 2008.

Arena’s new technology swimsuit will be out only in June.
